Wedding Reception Food
It is common practise to feed your wedding guests, and wedding reception food can vary from simple hors d’oeuvres to extravagant sit-down feasts.
There is wedding reception food to suit every budget and wedding theme, and you will find it easiest to decide on both of these issues first (your budget and your chosen wedding theme). You may also wish to create your guest list so you’ll know how many people you need to feed, as this can be a deciding factor as well, both for budget reasons as well for feasibility.
Generally, if you’re offering a meal such as dinner, either a buffet style or a sit-down dinner are the usual choices. Buffets are often more affordable, as well as offering more choice to the guests. You’ll save on wait staff and be able to offer a variety of foods. Buffet fare can be presented in a variety of themes, and you can decorate the buffet tables to compliment your wedding theme.
Sit-down dinners are generally more formal in natrue, and can range from salad and an entrèe to multiple courses featuring seafood, pasta and chicken or steak along with entrèes and dessert.
You may also consider the ethnicity of the wedding reception food you offer. For instance, if you wish to honor a certain cultural background of your guests, or perhaps express a certain theme such as Caribbean or Mexican, you can do so with the wedding reception food, by offering some dishes which reflect this.
