Wedding Planning
As owners of a wedding planning site, we see many brides getting very stressed about remembering and keeping all the little details in order as they go about planning their wedding.
Money is also a huge issue for a lot of couples, especially young ones, and we know how important it is to feel as if you are not compromising on your wedding, and yet save as much money as possible at the same time.
We have put this list together to help with these issues, and also recommend the money-saving planning guides you will find in the sidebar (also featured below). They are written by experienced wedding planners – in one case a bride who refused to take no for an answer when it came to saving money – and the others by professional wedding planners. All contain tips and tools you will NOT find in the bridal magazines.

Following are some of our best tips. You will find a list of resources at the bottom of the page.
- Use a checklist: One way to start right and help maintain your sanity is to use a comprehensive checklist. You can find many free ones online, including ours (CLICK HERE for .pdf version). By using the aid of a checklist you will be able to make notes, check things off as you accomplish them, and keep all your information in one place. A good idea is to keep one file folder handy and include your checklist as well as other notes, receipts and pertinent information. Organization is key to remaining calm and remembering everything.
- Use your existing resources: For all things planning, remember that as exciting and new as this is for you, many people in your life have been down this road before. Take advantage of the experience of the married women and couples you know by asking them for tips on how to save money, where to source services and items you need, and the best way to handle situations eg. seating, wedding party selection, etc..
- Delegate: What are friends for? A girl can only do so much, and for those jobs that are leaving you feeling overwhelmed, enlist the help of your friends and family. In fact, a wedding is a great way to bring people together, and chances are you yourself have helped a girlfriend or two in the past with wedding favor preparation, organizing and general tasks. Don’t be afraid to ask when you need help, and prevent yourself from becoming too stressed.
