Ah, wedding cakes…the jewel in the crown of your wedding reception decoration. Wedding cakes have become such a centerpiece of wedding planning that many well-heeled brides wait months just to get on the ‘maybe we can help you’ list of designer wedding cake makers.
Wedding cakes can be made to suit any style and budget, and can literally be created to fulfill almost any design fantasy a bride may have. Do you have a fiancé who is a firefighter? Your wedding cake can be custom-made to look like a firehouse, complete with a firetruck in the driveway and a little candy dalmation out front.
Creative and unique wedding cakes have become more and more popular as brides seek to plan a uniquely memorable celebration. It is not unusual to see wedding cakes with custom-colored flowers or adornments such as leaves, greenery and tropical plants, or any other theme-related items you can think of. Your imagination is the limit, although your budget may play a part as well. For a bride with deep financial resources, anything can be done, with the right cakemaker/s.

Try your local bakeries and even grocers, as many have cake departments and would be thrilled to create a cake for your special day, often at far better prices than specialty boutiques. There is also the option of renting a fake cake – these are available at many bridal salons and other bridal specialty stores, as well as baking establishments. These fake wedding cakes are usually adorned with fdresh or silk flowers for hte day, and often brides will order a plain slab cake and have the kitchen cut it up into little pieces for wedding guests.
