Cultural Wedding Dresses
If you have a strong cultural background, you may be looking for a specific cultural wedding dress.
Some brides may also wish to honor the culture of their ancestors or their husband-to-be, even if they themselves do not live lives steeped in culture.
A cultural wedding dress is any attire that is traditional for a bride to wear at her wedding, and in many cases includes not just one dress but several outfits.
Indian weddings, for instance, tradionally consist of several different celebrations and rituals, performed over a number of days. Indian wedding dress can be very elaborate, as seen in the picture below.

Many cultures have specific details, finishings and styles which speak of their culture and their history. Chinese wedding dresses, for instance, are traditionally red, a color symbolizing prosperity and luck. They usually have beautiful embroidery on them, depicting flowers, dragons, family emblems or other meaningful symbols or animals.
A cultural wedding dress can send a message about a family’s status, history or background, and the variations from culture to culture are significant. All brides, however, want one thing – to feel beatiful and special on their wedding day.
